Professional scientific illustrations
Figures are often the first part of a scientific contribution to be evaluated by editors and reviewers. Scientific illustrations are not simple attention-getting visual elements. They are representations displaying facts, ideas and relationships far more concisely than descriptive text. They should provide all the information necessary to fully understand them, be clearly identifiable and establish the key message using every element involved.
My clients obtain the best possible scientific illustrations a la carte with the following outstanding characteristics:
High resolution vectorial graphics.
All available file formats (jpg, png, eps, etc.).
All dimensions available.
Personalized colours, greyscale or black & white.
Fluid tweaks until completion of figures.
Prompt reply and quick delivery.
Competitive and affordable prices.
Strict confidentiality for your scientific data.
Well-designed figures can help the audience better understand the objectives and results of your research. The most difficult part of designing an illustration is defining an effective overall visual arrangement.
How I work
I start my work from any type of previous sketch (hand-drawn, photography, etc.) of a figure sent by scientists wishing to obtain professional vectorial illustrations for their contributions. Keeping a constant feedback with authors, the design phases of drawings include several intermediate steps:
Original hand drawing. A previous analysis will define the format, size, typography, etc.
Work in progress
Drawing of the initial vectorized sketch to be modified and improved by the author.
Final illustration ready for submission after its revision and acceptance by the client.
A scientist must explain its research to the design consultant who will ask him to identify the most important information he wants to communicate.
